First death from COVID-19 reported in Warren County

The first death tied to the novel Coronavirus has been reported in Warren County.

The Warren County Health Department announced on Tuesday that the patient was a male between the ages of 60-80.

The health department is urging the community to do what they can to slow the spread of the virus, practice social distancing of at least six feet apart, wear face coverings, washing of hands frequently, and staying home when community members are ill.

In addition to the death, the health department announced that they’ve reached 235 total cases of coronavirus disease after two males between 20-40 tested positive. Health officials say that 161 individuals have recovered from it.

Knox County Health officials on Tuesday announced that 32 new cases of the Coronavirus Disease had been confirmed between Friday, August 21st, and Monday, August 24th.

Cases range from a male and female in their 90s, to six females in their 30s, to two males under the age of one. Half of the newly reported cases are in individuals under 40.

With that, the number of total positive cases in the county has reached 430. The health department says that currently there are no hospitalizations.
