Bicyclist ignores stop sign; arrested for drug possession

Saturday, August 22nd, Galesburg police were patrolling the area of East South Street when they saw a bicyclist blow through a stop sign at Allens Avenue and South. GPD initiated a traffic stop on the bicycle and made contact with 46-year old Jarrod Tessier of Galesburg. Dispatch advised the officers that Tessier had a valid Knox County Warrant. While being placed under arrest, officers discovered a used methamphetamine pipe in his pants and a cosmetic case with three baggies of methamphetamine altogether weighing around 2.5 grams. Tessier was then transported to the Knox County Jail. He was charged with Possession of Meth less than 5 grams, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and the Knox County Warrant.
