The two were parked at the Ramada Inn on Utica Ridge Road in Bettendorf when police noticed the registration for the vehicle didn’t match its VIN – which police discovered came back reported stolen. The two were walking south on Utica Ridge Road when stopped by police. According to police reports, a search of the vehicle turned up a 9mm Hi-Point handgun, a 9mm revolver, and a digital scale with meth residue. Police then searched the pair’s hotel room and discovered two more digital scales, a marijuana pipe, 6.84 grams of meth, 4.54 grams of cannabis, seven Lorazepam, two bags of hypodermic needles, and Naloxone. Register claimed we was borrowing the car from a friend who kept trying to sell it to him. Register told Galesburg Police something similar to that when he was arrested last week in possession of a stolen motorcycle.
