Knox County COVID cases continue to climb

The Knox County Health Department announced Tuesday there are now a total of 310 cases of COVID-19 in Knox County.
That includes 24 new cases reported from Friday to Monday.
This represents what is believed to again be the largest number of new cases in a single week in Knox County at 45, after last week 40 cases were reported.

Tuesday the Illinois Department of Public Health had even more cases for Knox County at 313.

81 percent of Knox County cases have recovered thus far, and only one individual is hospitalized at this time.

The bulk of new cases are in people younger than 40 but there are 4 females in their 80’s and 90’s with newly reported cases.

There has only been one COVID-19 related death in Knox County.

WGIL reported on a second COVID related death per IDPH, but local officials say they requested IDPH review the initial determination and they “determined that it was not a COVID 19 related death.”
