The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting Wednesday that a woman has died from COVID-19 in Knox County.
This marks the first coronavirus related death in Knox County; a female in her 70’s.
Few other details are known, and it’s unlikely more details will be released.
IDPH also now reports Knox County is up to 202 confirmed COVID-19 cases after local officials reported 194 yesterday.
The Knox County Health Department has confirmed the death.
Knox County Public Health Administrator Michele Gabriele says, “This is a sad day and our hearts go out to her family and friends. This is not the kind of news we ever want to
announce.”
She adds, “We need to redouble our efforts in keeping each other safe.”
