Drugs found on woman arrested for gas station battery

A Galesburg woman is facing battery and drug charges after she allegedly shoved a woman at Circle K on Henderson St.46-year-old Jodie Cole of Galesburg was arrested and faces charges of aggravated battery in a public place, and possession of less than 15 grams of a controlled substance. A female victim told police that Cole, who she knew, approached her at Circle K, made a threatening comment, and then shoved the victim with two hands. The station’s clerk confirmed the story to officers. Cole was still at Circle K when officers arrived and she was taken into custody. Her purse was searched with police finding a spoon with a white chunky substance and residue that tested positive for cocaine. Officers also found two glass pipes in her purse.

A previous version of this story said that Cole was arrested for possession of more than 15 grams of a controlled substance. She has actually been charged with LESS than 15 grams of a controlled substance and this story was updated to reflect at 12:55 p.m. Friday July 24th.
