Knox College Library awarded CARES funds grant

The National Endowment for the Humanities yesterday announced $40.3 million in new CARES Act economic stabilization grants to support essential operations at more than 300 cultural institutions across the country. One recipient of the grant is Knox College. The Knox College library will receive a $126,399 CARES Act economic stabilization grant. The grant will help with the retention of three full-time librarians and a part-time archive assistant to support research, collections, preservation, and access. The college is the only downstate organization in the state to receive an economic stabilization grant. In March, the National Endowment for the Humanities received $75 million in supplemental grant funding through the $2.2 trillion CARES Act.
The agency has already distributed $30 million of that funding to the 56 state and jurisdictional humanities councils to support local cultural nonprofits and educational programming.
