Local pumpkin patch may not be done yet

You might say that the rumors of Country Corner Farm Market and Pumpkin Patch‘s demise are at least a little bit exaggerated for the time being.

The farm near Alpha in Henry County posted on its website that it does not anticipate opening for the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. And, items from the facility have been posted for sale on social media with the words “Going out of business” being used.

Owner Bruce Curry declined to be interviewed just yet, but tells WGIL he is currently talking to another business about “merging” the operation with his. He says he should know more in a couple weeks.

In the meantime, Curry says he’s been overwhelmed with phone calls Friday, including at least two from people who also wanted to buy the business.

Country Corner has been in operation since 1987.
