Galesburg Farmers Market aiming to open May 16th

In the midst of many local summer attractions being canceled (i.e. Galesburg Railroad Days, and the Maple City Cruise Night) one summer feature plans to return this month. The Galesburg Farmers Market plans to open for the season a week from Saturday on May 16th. Held in the downtown parking lot on Simmons Street between Seminary and Kellogg, farmers and food vendors will set up beginning at 8:00 am to noon. Weekly farmers’ markets are scheduled to be held each Saturday until October 31st. Many common-sense guidelines have been established in regard to each farmer’s market promoting the practice of social distancing. Guidelines include: only two members of a household may attend at a time, a face mask must be worn, pre-ordering of products is encouraged, vendors will pack orders for you to prevent anyone from touching produce and products, and wash all your products once you return home. If you are vulnerable to COVID-19, due to age or medical condition, you are encouraged to shop between 8:00 am and 8:30 am and other customers are asked to wait until 8:30 am. For the full list of guidelines and policies, see their Facebook post below.
