Knox-Galesburg Symphony adds to list of postponements

It was announced Monday, April 27th that the May 16th performance by the Knox-Galesburg Symphony has been postponed to a future date. According to the Orpheum Theatre website, the May 16th Pops performance was to be “Art of War” featuring music from movies like “Troy” and “The Davinci Code.” This comes after the KGS had postponed the March 28th Masterworks performance of “American Women.” In a news release, Executive Director Lucas Wood said, “We are working diligently to continue bringing music to you and will be sharing those plans with you very soon. We will be performing for you as soon as we are able, but in order to do this, we must remain as complete as possible. Please consider donating your unused tickets as a tax-deductible way to continue supporting YOUR orchestra.” He adds that the symphony will remain in communication with patrons and the community to provide updates about the rescheduled performances and the announcement of the 2020-2021 season as more information becomes available. “The Art of War” joins a list of recent Orpheum Theatre postponements that includes The Elvis Spectacular originally scheduled for March 21st, and country star T. Graham Bell originally scheduled for May 9th. As of now, the Glen Miller Orchestra concert has been rescheduled for August 16th.
