Knox County adds 11 cases of COVID

Knox County added 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, the same day that Illinois announced their largest one-day increase in confirmed cases.

Knox now has a total of 30 COVID-19 cases.

The Knox County Unified Command says this afternoon that new cases include…

● Male in 70s
● Female in 50s
● Male in 40s
● Male in 30s

The Unified Command only commented on cases #21-#25 this evening, but their online dashboard shows 30 confirmed cases as of 6 p.m. Friday.

Also Friday, the Illinois Department of Corrections is showing one inmate at the Henry C. Hill Correctional Facility in Galesburg has recovered, out of the 5 confirmed cases.

There is now the second case of a prison staff member testing positive, the second such confirmation in as many days.

Testing in Knox County has picked up dramatically in the last week, with currently 63 tests pending. Overall 329 tests have been performed in the county, 236 of them being negative.
