Sandburg administration recommending no tuition increases

The Carl Sandburg College Board of Trustees are scheduled to meet Thursday night with an item to leave tuition rates flat for next year.

Administration recommends leaving tuition at $170 per credit hour for in-district students, $255 for out of the district, and $284 for out-of-state students.

These are after modest increases around 3 percent the past few years.

For context, an in-district student with a full-time 12 credit hour load, paid $1,860 a semester in 2017 and they’re paying $2,040 this and next year.

This doesn’t include some extra fees, like books or fees associated with certain programs.
