Monmouth College announces new date for commencement, plans virtual ceremony in May

Monmouth College has laid out plans for the Class of 2020’s commencement ceremonies in light of current guidance against large gatherings.
Monmouth announced in mid-March that they would postpone the on-campus ceremony.

That ceremony is now planned for September 19.

But the college says they will also hold a “virtual commencement” on the weekend of May 16-17.

The Senior Toast will be live-streamed on the evening of May 16 on the College’s Facebook page.

The Honor Walk is an event in which seniors present a specially minted commemorative coin to honor a family member, staff or friend who provided inspiration and support through their Monmouth career.

The “virtual” Honor Walk will take place on the college’s various social media channels on graduation week.

Social entrepreneur Sam Vaghar will speak as was originally planned, both at the virtual ceremony and the on-campus one in the fall.
