No cause yet in Thursday house fire

The cause of a structure fire in Galesburg last week is under investigation at this time.

According to a release from the city, fire department personnel were called out to 476 Franklin Avenue for the structure fire at just before seven o’clock Thursday night.

Firefighters from the Fremont Street fire station were on the scene first, reporting flames showing from the front of the story-and-a-half home.

A hose line was pulled and firefighters went to work with a fast attack mode to knock down much of the fire.

Brooks Street and Central fire station crews arrived and assisted in getting the fire completely under control and out.

It was reported that there was extensive damage throughout the home but no injuries were reported in the release.
