Knox County Jail making policy changes with COVID-19 concerns

With the growing concerns over the continued spread of COVID-19 throughout Illinois, the Knox County Jail has modified many of their policies until further notice.

In a statement from Sheriff David Clague, all programs, including bible study, narcotics and alcoholics anonymous, and more are suspended.

Civilian fingerprinting services are suspended. Clergy visits will not be allowed nor will special visits. The lobby will be closed outside of normal business hours.

Attorney visits will be allowed but must be conducted in the attorney visiting room only — unless specifically authorized by jail administration and attorney being present for video court will still be allowed.

On-site visiting days will be suspended, effective immediately, but will not affect remote visits with a computer or mobile device.
