One cited as semi-trailer hauling hogs overturns in Knox County

A Chenoa, Illinois, man was cited for failing to reduce speed after a semi-trailer hauling hogs overturned while on an exit ramp northeast of Galesburg.

According to the Illinois State Police, 21-year-old Wade Francis was exiting from the I-74 westbound lane on to U.S. Route 34 west hauling the livestock when he lost control and overturned at around 6:24 Saturday morning.

ISP says that he took the curve of the ramp too fast and lost control, leading to the crash. No injuries were reported from the accident but the ramp was closed for several hours as crews worked the cleanup.
