Pancakes, trivia, Orpheum performances make up your weekend

Let them eat….pancakes. Pancake season continues to be in full swing with a Pancake and Sausage Supper Saturday, March 7th at the Berwick Baptist Church. Serving from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, the cost is a free-will offering.

Head to the Galesburg Knights of Columbus Hall on Sunday, March 8th with the Knox County Right To Life Whole-Hog Sausage and Pancakes Breakfast. Serving from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, the cost is $5 for adults, $2 for kids under 12 – and $15 for a whole family. The breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, applesauce, juice, milk, and bottomless coffee.

You can also take your pick of trivia this weekend. The Relay for Life of Knox County is hosting a Trivia Night Saturday, March 7th at Cedar Creek Hall. The cost is $100 per team. Doors open at 5:00 pm trivia is at 6:00 pm. The evening will include food for purchase, a silent auction, and a bottle pull.

Galesburg Christian School is hosting a Music Trivia Night Saturday, March 7th to benefit GCS Athletics. Held at the Galesburg Knights of Columbus Hall, doors open at 5:30 pm, trivia starts at 6:30 pm. The cost is $100 per team.

The Galesburg Orpheum Theatre welcomes The Tap Pack on Sunday, March 8th. The Tap Pack is an elegant and entertaining nod to the Rat Pack era featuring high energy performances of mind-blowing tap dancing, smooth vocals, a swinging live jazz band, and witty on-stage banter. The five-member Australian cast wins the audience from the first downbeat and the pace of their amazing performances never slows. They joke, they compete, and they croon while performing cool classics with a fresh twist. The high-energy tap comedy show will take the Orpheum Theatre stage on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets start at $20 – visit the Orpheum Theatre Box Office.

The Jack Larson Big Band Performance and Instrument Drive is Sunday, March 8th. It’s a big band benefit concert and fundraiser for District 205 for those in 5th and 6th grade wanting to join the band. The concert will feature Adam Larson on sax along with District 205 staff and students past and present as well as the GHS Jazz Band. Held at Lombard Middle School – admission is $10 for adults, students are free; the concert begins Sunday at 2:00 pm.
