Health Department Receives Donation from Carpetland USA

The Knox County Health Department recently received a donation from Carpetland USA in Galesburg to support the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (IBCCP). The IBCCP offers free mammograms, breast exams and Pap tests to eligible women living in Knox, Warren, and Henderson counties. Even if a woman has already been diagnosed with cancer, she may receive free treatment if she qualifies. Carpetland donated $700.00 which will help patients of the program with travel vouchers to and from doctor appointments, cab vouchers, and hotel vouchers to assist if patients must stay out of town for appointments. Knox County Health Department Director of Family Health, Jessica Hart, R.N., said the donation will prove invaluable to assist our patients in all three counties. The health department says, if you do not have a health care provider, are insured, uninsured or underinsured, call to learn more about our Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program. For more information, call the Health Department at 309-344-2224.
