Cottage Hospital issues temporary visitor restrictions because of flu cases

Galesburg Cottage Hospital is temporarily restricting visits due to an influx of flu and respiratory cases in the area.
They’ve released guidelines they would like visitors of the hospital to adhere to.

They ask that children under the age of 18 with upper respiratory symptoms like cough, stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, fever, chills and body aches should not visit at all.

If visiting a patient can’t be avoided then visitors should wear face masks that are available for no charge at the information desk located at the hospital’s front entrance.

No more than two visitors for a patient will be allowed at any time.

Those visiting patients with influenza will be limited to people who are necessary for the patient’s emotional well-being and care.

WGIL is not aware of similar measures being taken at OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg but visitor restrictions in light of influenza cases have been issued for Peoria and Tazewell county facilities.
