Davenport man picked up in Knoxville with stolen vehicle, and meth

A Davenport, Iowa man was arrested last week in Knoxville on charges of possessing a stolen vehicle and meth delivery.

Knoxville officers responded to Casey’s General Store for a report of a white male having stolen an employee’s car keys.

Two employees  Casey’s at provided a detail description of the suspect and he was on video taking the keys. Also, surveillance footage indicated the man left in a tan color Jeep.

Officers found a similar vehicle at the Dollar General on Henderson Road, with no one in the driver seat and 37-year-old Justin Miller in the passenger seat. He would match the suspected car thief’s description.

Police reports say that Miller had “nervous, jittery” movements and seemed “extremely nervous”, tugging on his seatbelt.

Officers would learn from dispatch that the 2004 Jeep Liberty was stolen out of Davenport.

Police began a search of the car where several plastic baggies inside of a larger baggie were found that contained a substance that field-tested positive for meth.
