Knox Co. Housing Authority gains two new members

The Knox County Housing Authority has named two new Commissioners to its board, both of them having plenty of experience with community service.

Sara Robison, CASA of West Central Illinois’ Executive Director, and Joseph Riley, Vice President with Community State Bank join the group of seven that oversees public housing in Knox County.

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates and is an agency that makes sure that children and families get fair and equitable treatment when going through the court system.

Riley has worked in the banking industry for the past several years, working with a wide range of organizations, businesses, and individuals in all matters pertaining to money management and wealth growth.

KCHA Executive Director Derek Antoine says both are “engaged members of the community that bring unique perspectives to their service on the board.”

Also, both Robison and Riley been recognized for their service with awards from various organizations.

Specifically, he cites Robison’s work with disadvantaged families and Riley’s financial prowess.

Commissioners for the Housing Authority are formally nominated by the Knox County Board Chair and approved by a majority vote of the Knox County Board.

Robison was approved at the August meeting and Riley at the September meeting.
