Walk of the Dead Haunted Trail is back

The Walk of the Dead Haunted Trail presented by the AGES Community has returned October 4th. The 3rd annual scary event began Friday, October 4th but continues every Friday and Saturday night in October. Sean Godsil is in his third year of organizing the event – and he’s been scaring people since he was a kid. “It’s a different haunt every year,” Godsil said. “You have to have new scares (and) a new layout because if you do the same ole thing over and over again, people will expect it. We’ve got a lot of new things I’m excited about this year. We’ve got a lot of new gags that people haven’t seen in a haunted house before, or people haven’t seen in a long time. I was in Jaycees before. I took some of their old tricks that a lot of people aren’t doing currently and I pulled them out and put them in the haunt this year and I think it’s going to make a big difference.” The new layout will have you enter at the ticket booth for Lakeside Splashzone. Godsil says you’ll park and then follow a gated path through the shelter and you’ll stark the Walk in the woods and come out near the tennis courts. He adds that parents should use discretion – the Walk of the Dead is intended for those 12 and up. The event is weather permitting – and attendees are prohibited from wearing open-toe shoes. The cost is $15 per person and is every Friday and Saturday from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
