No injuries were reported after several gunshots were fired at vehicles along the 1000-block of West Berrien Street in Galesburg this weekend.
At around 2:03 Saturday morning, officers responded to multiple calls of “shots fired” where they found two vehicles had been struck by what appeared to be gunfire.
According to a report, the driver of one of the vehicles told police that he had given an acquaintance a ride. Along the way, a four-door sedan followed them and attempted to pull up next to them.
He said he ran a red light to avoid the vehicle. After dropping off the passenger, he drove back Berrien Street where he joined two other men in the other vehicle — when gunfire erupted and he felt glass hit him.
Officers utilized K-9 units to search the area but found no suspects. Two shell casings were recovered from the area.
No arrests have been made.
