A door was damaged by an apparent drive-by shooting in Galesburg.
According to a police report, officers were called out to the 900-block of East North Street for a “shots fired” call at around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday.
Dispatch informed officers that a red SUV had traveled west on North Street and fired several shots at a residence, striking a door.
Once on scene, officers noted they observed the front door to be shattered with a single circular breakpoint in the middle of the door.
Several witnesses told police that they heard “bangs” and glass breaking but only a few said they saw the red SUV.
No injuries were reported. Police reports indicate that a bullet slug was recovered at the scene.
