One female victim suffered a gunshot wound in 100 block of North Chambers St. in the day Tuesday.
The victim has been transferred to OSF St. Francis for further treatment but the condition she’s in is not known.
GPD emphasize that there is not an on-going threat to the public.
First responders including Galesburg Police, Fire, Knox County Sheriff’s deputies and Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service were all on scene.
Officers were still investigating on-scene as of 1:50 p.m. Tuesday.
At least some area schools went on soft lock down in response to the issue but GPD say that was a school decision and not per their recommendation.
