Monmouth man arrested for felony intent to deliver cannabis

A number of police agencies executed a search warrant in Monmouth this morning that resulted in one man facing charges of possession of cannabis with intent to deliver.

45-year-old Michael Brewer had a warranted executed at his residence in 900-block of 180th Avenue turning up a large amount of cannabis.

A release from Monmouth Police doesn’t say how much cannabis was seized but that Brewer’s being charged with possession with intent to deliver over 500 grams but less than 2,000, which is a Class 2 felony.

Brewer’s also being charged with possessing drug paraphernalia and unlawful use of weapons.

He was transported to the Warren County Jail where he likely will have a detention hearing Wednesday.

Illinois is set to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana on Jan. 1, but even then possession of over 500 grams will be illegal.
