Over $12K in iPhones stolen from Walmart

$12,589 in Apple iPhones were stolen last week from the Galesburg Walmart store on Knox Square Drive.

According to a report, officers were called out to the retailer at around 11:50 Wednesday night for the theft. They were informed by store staff that a drawer in the electronics department had been damaged and opened. The drawer contained several iPhones.

A black pry bar, which had been for sale at the store, was allegedly used to break into the drawer and was left behind afterward.

Officers reviewed video and observed two black males in the electronics department at around 11:12. One of the subjects went behind the counter where the damage was observed and then grabbed armfuls of packages from the drawer.

They soon departed from the store with bags that the stolen property was allegedly in.

The two black males are described as between 25-35 years of age with a medium build and both have black dreadlocks.

The investigation is ongoing.
