Railroad Days carnival starts Thursday, June 20th

There’s literally something for everyone during the 42nd Annual Galesburg Railroad Days. The carnival kicks off Thursday, June 20th beginning at 6:00 pm on the square in downtown Galesburg. Other highlights from the four-day event include the Standish Park Arts and Crafts Market on Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The 34th Annual Western Illinois Antique Auto Club Showcase is Sunday beginning at 7:30 am. The 25th Annual Model Train Showcase at the GHS Fieldhouse is Saturday starting at 9:00 am and Sunday at 10:00 am. “If you go to the Model Train and Toy Show, you can jump on a bus and it’ll bring you right down to the depot area,” Railroad Days Chairman Dennis Clark said. “We also have the trolley coming in around to Simmons Street. (It) goes to Standish Park then back around – it’ll just be ran in a circle. That does from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (on Saturday). It’s a one dollar fee for all day – and riding on a trolley is fun.” There will be the East Main Street of Dreams on Saturday with games for kids and adults beginning at 10:00 am, Big Wheel Races for kids at 11:00 am and 3-Point Basketball Shoot-out at 12:00 pm. Other features include the Main Street Music Weekend Lineup on Friday at Saturday starting at 7:30 pm. The Local Rib Cook-Off is Sunday beginning at 7:00 am.
