Bond reduced in Knox Co. home invasion case

A 32-year-old man had his bond reduced to $3,000 after making a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court.

Kevin D. Lockett Jr is facing several felonies, the most severe being a Class X charge of Home Invasion.

Additional charges include Class 1 Residential Burglary, Class 2 Aggravated Domestic Battery, and Class 4 Criminal Trespass to a Residence.

According to Galesburg Police, officers spoke with a woman on June 8th who claimed to have been battered by Lockett when he broke into her home earlier in the day.

She told police that Locket kicked in her front door, choked her to the point of blacking out, and struck her in the face several times.

The woman sustained several facial injuries and had scratches and ligature marks on her neck.

Additionally, officers responded to her residence and observed damage to the door and frame.

Lockett was picked up on a $150,000 arrest warrant before his detention hearing Monday.
