Quality of Life series continues April 25th with Living with Parkinson’s

April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month. Roughly one million Americans live with Parkinson’s disease and approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with PD each year. Incidence of Parkinson’s Disease increases with age – only 4% of people are diagnosed before the age of 50. Seminary Estates and Hawthorne continue a quality of life series this week titled: “Living with Parkinson’s.” During the event, attendees will see a presentation with resources available to the public for those affected with PD.  “Please come,” said Marketing Director Darcy Thorp. “Even if it is not something that’s affecting you; you have a friend or family member that it is affecting. It’s just amazing – (the) medicine right now and therapies right now, it’s really amazing to see how far we’ve gone each year.” The quality of life series is held the 2nd Thursday of every month at Seminary Estates and the 4th Thursday of every month at Hawthorne Inn. Thursday, April 25th’s “Living with Parkinson’s” program will be held at 2:00 pm and is open to the public.
