Man charged with aggravated battery for striking pair at Knoxville bar

A 27-year-old Gilson man is facing aggravated battery charges for striking a man and woman at the Roadside Sportsbar in Knoxville on March 30.Stanton Herron is facing four counts of Class 3 aggravated battery which could land him 2 to 5 years in prison if convicted.

Assistant State’s Attorney Andrew Stuckart in charging documents says that Herron punched the male victim in the head “causing a brain hemorrhage.”

Other counts are related to Herron making “physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature”, “causing great bodily harm” and the fourth count is for allegedly striking a female victim.

Herron’s bond was initially set at $75,000 but modified to allow him to travel out of state for work.
