Several vehicles were burglarized over the weekend in Galesburg.
Galesburg Police say that eight vehicles were burglarized between Saturday and Sunday. The reports were isolated to the 1100-block of West Losey Street, 1200-block of West Grove Street, and 900-blocks of Olive Street and Hawkinson Avenue.
Around $56 in combined loose change was taken from vehicles as well as a pair of sunglasses and phone cord, according to police reports.
Several victims told officers that they had last seen their vehicles untampered at around midnight, while another victim told police that she had observed people with flashlights between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. She told officers that she assumed it was police officers looking for someone and went back to sleep.
