One woman is in the hospital after a single vehicle accident in Fulton County Tuesday evening.
According to the Illinois State Police, 43-year-old Tara L. Butler of Chandlerville was transported via ambulance to OSF St. Mary Medical Center following a vehicle rollover east of Avon.
State police say that Butler was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee at around 6:20 p.m. on County Road 20, just west of Troy Road, when she lost control, left the roadway and overturned several times down an embankment.
She allegedly was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected.
Police say that she is facing a number of charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, not having a valid driver’s license, and having no insurance.
Assisting the state police were the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, London Mills Rescue, and EMS, and Galesburg Hospitals Ambulance Service.
