Clague now President of Illinois Sheriff’s Association

Knox County Sheriff David Clague won another term in November. After serving as the 1st Vice President, Clague is now the President of the Illinois Sheriff’s Association. The ISA’s primary mission is to assist the 102 County Sheriffs throughout the state with training, communication and the necessary resources for them to serve local communities more efficiently. The ISA also helps students prepare for the future through scholarships, drug awareness, and community involvement. “The primary responsibility of the Illinois Sheriff’s, which came to be in 1928, they’re dedicated to supporting the time-honored office of the Sheriff in Illinois by upholding each Sheriff’s rights to fulfill their duty to serve and protect Illinois citizens,” Clague said. “The Sheriff’s Association is highly recognized in Springfield with the lawmakers as opposed to other organizations.” Clague was also appointed to the State 911 Board. He was appointed by Governor Pat Quinn in 2015, again by Rauner during his administration, and now again by Governor J.B. Pritzker. Clague also sits on the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board.
