KCAP and GCF hosting Entrepreneur event.

The Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development and the Galesburg Community Foundation are hosting a new event later this month. The event, called “By Entrepreneurs, For Entrepreneurs”, is designed to be a fun and interactive event exclusively for local entrepreneurs to meet and network with other local entrepreneurs. KCAP President Ken Springer says it doesn’t matter if you are an expert or a rookie. “Our point to all of this is to just put a bunch of entrepreneurs in the same room, let everyone introduce themselves to the room, and just see what happens,” Springer said. “Our belief is that: entrepreneurs may be looking for strategic partnerships, mentors, maybe they just want to get the word out about what their new business is, and we just want to create a platform for these entrepreneurs to talk to each other. Nobody’s going to be there selling anything, it’s just gonna be entrepreneurs. Hence the title: “By Entrepreneurs, For Entrepreneurs.” All entrepreneurs will have a chance to share their story, ask questions of the group or tell about recent successes. Springer says the event is open to those in Knox and Warren Counties. He added that it can sometimes be challenging for KCAP to find and assist rural entrepreneurs since events like this haven’t happened before. Admission is free. “By Entrepreneurs, For Entrepreneurs” is being held Thursday, January 31st from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Hidden Hills Vineyard and Winery in Knoxville. Those interested should RSVP by Wednesday, January 23rd by calling the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development at 309 343-1194.
