$3,517 in tools reported stolen Monday morning

An investigation is underway regarding thousands of dollars in stolen tools that was reported Monday morning.

Officers were dispatched to a warehouse operated by several businesses in the 1500-block of Monmouth Boulevard at around 6:14 in reference to a burglary.

According to a Galesburg Police report, officers were informed that several power tools, including DeWalt impact drivers, drills, circular saws, and batteries were taken, as was the DVR video surveillance system.

Additionally, some hand tools were taken as was a toolbox. In total, reports indicate that $3,517 in property were taken from the area.

Police identified a door and window to be unsecured, as was a bay door found to be unlocked. The indication from the report was that all three should have been secured.

Officers also found that a chain that secured a gate had appeared to be cut. Police are still investigating the incident.
