A scam caller has been spoofing the phone number for the Galesburg Public Safety Building.
That’s what has been reported by citizens who have told police they received a phone call from a person claiming to be a family member in need of bail money.
Galesburg Police are warning citizens not to hand out personal information to people over the phone.
Additionally, police say that anyone who receives the call should verify that the call originated from the Public Safety Building.
