New Knox County Board to be sworn in Monday

A new Knox County Board will be sworn in on Monday night.

In a special organizational meeting, newly elected board members Todd Olinger and Patrick Harlan will be sworn in.

In November, Olinger defeated Brett Villarreal for an open seat in District Four after outgoing member David Erickson did not file to run again. He won the 58.7% of the vote to win the race.

Harlan comes onto the board after receiving the second most votes in the District One race, where there were two open seats. In that race, Cheryl Nache won re-election while Dick Conklin did not.

The political makeup of the board did not change with the election results. Democrats still retain the majority 9-6.

Additionally, the new board will elect a Board Chair and Vice Chair. Currently, Pamela Davidson serves as Chair of the Knox County Board.

The organizational meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. on the second floor of the Knox County Court House.
