High school productions, color run, and family dinners this weekend

Starting Friday, November 2nd local and area students will be presenting the musical “Footloose” at Williamsfield High School. Based on the popular 1984 movie, Footloose is the story of a city teenager that moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace. Directed by Williamsfield Principal Zack Binder, the production is made up of Williamsfiled High School and middle school students along with students from Dunlap, Brimfield, Galva and more. Binder says that it’s a “great opportunity to see 40-plus students from all different backgrounds and schools come together to create something special on the stage. The Williamsfield High School gymnasium will be transformed into an auditorium. Performances are Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd at 7:30 pm and the Sunday, November 4th matinee at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students, and senior citizens are free. The Monmouth-Roseville Drama Club hopes to bring some comedy to your weekend with Moon Over Buffalo. This fall production tells the story of two once-great stage legends who find themselves on the brink of finally attaining stardom while their marriage is on the verge of collapse. Held at the Monmouth Roseville High School Auditorium, the show will take the stage Friday, November 2nd at 7:00 pm and on Sunday, November 4th at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students with ID.

Starting Saturday, November 3rd,  at 10:00 am to 1:30 pm, Knox College’s Eta Kappa Kappa Gamma is hosting a Kolor Run/Walk 5k to raise awareness and funds for multiple sclerosis.
A silent auction will be held at the finish line in Standish Park. Registration runs through Friday, November 2nd and costs $20 with a t-shirt, $10 without a t-shirt and is open to all ages.

Saturday, November 3rd, the Oneida American Legion Post 7-27 is hosting a Family Fish and Chicken Dinner from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. They’ll be serving whole catfish, fish fillets and chicken fillets plus baked potato, potato salad and baked beans. The cost is $10. The legion will also have a ham give-a-away for one dollar a ticket.
