OSF Healthcare hosting Pink Party for Breast Cancer Awareness

Last year, an estimated 30% of newly diagnosed cancers in women will be breast cancer. OSF Healthcare is hosting a Pink Party tonight for anyone and everyone effected by breast cancer. Held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, October 30th at the Knights of Columbus, the event will several booths set up featuring everything from information and support to those living with breast cancer, to ones featuring cosmetics, jewelry and clothing. “We have a guest speaker this year,” Carrie McCance, Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator for OSF St. Mary Medical Center said. “You come in, you can register for prizes – we have give-a-ways. Then at 6:00 we have Sister Mikela of OSF Healthcare St. Francis. She’s going to come and speak about stress. Stress plays a big part in recovering from breast cancer. It’ll just be an enjoyable evening for everyone.”

OSF also features self-referral and walk-in mammogram programs for women on Wednesdays from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm, and one Saturday per month. A mammogram is quick and painless and early detection is key.
