County board to consider approval of Landfill gate fees

A handful of resolutions that were approved at last week’s Finance Committee meeting will be considered for final approval at Wednesday night’s Knox County Board meeting.

The majority of agenda items related to the finance committee revolve around additional gate fees charged at the county’s landfill, fees that are approved every year that pertain to the fiscal year budget.

Another resolution the board will consider will relate to what county entities can dip in to the special contingency fund that is funded by ten percent of the gate receipts at the landfill.

Currently the Mary Davis Home, Building Fund, and General Fund have access to the special contingency fund.

A resolution being considered tonight will allow the Nursing Home to have access to that contingency fund as well.

The county board will also consider approvals for new security cameras and intercom system at the Mary Davis Home, and new fire security panel at the Nursing Home.

The board meets at the Galesburg City Council Chambers Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
