Bond set for Galesburg woman on meth charge

A 21-year-old Galesburg woman had her detention hearing Thursday on meth possession charge.

Nicole R. E. Fowler made a video appearance in Knox County Circuit Court with Judge Raymond A. Cavanaugh who set bond at $6,000. The Public Defender was also appointed to represent her in the case.

Galesburg Police officers allegedly found .3 of a gram of methamphetamine in her pocket after finding a glass meth pipe inside of backpacks in her possession.

According to reports, officers were investigating a dispute at the Phillips 66 gas station Wednesday night when Fowler allegedly told police she had the glass pipe in the backpack.

The alleged dispute began over Fowler agreeing to buy gasoline for a woman, but then only putting $5.00 in gasoline in a woman’s car, which led to an argument.

A bond rehearing was scheduled for Monday, October 1st, and a preliminary hearing for the November 5th.
