Fall Clean-Up Days are Monday, September 17th – Friday, September 21st in Galesburg.

Galesburg residents are reminded to start cleaning out attics, garages, basements and backyards in preparation for Fall Clean Up Days next week. The City of Galesburg will be holding clean-up days starting Monday, September 17th through Friday the 21st. Most items can be placed at the curb for pick-up without extra charge and items will be collected on residents’ normal trash days. Keep in mind, there are restrictions for the event. Items like liquid paint, auto batteries, propane tanks, demo waste, chunks of concrete, large auto parts, oil and tires will not be accepted. Electronic items like computer, office and video game equipment, televisions, DVD players, VCRs, and satellite receivers will also not be accepted. Yard waste will only be accepted in appropriate containers. Loose items must be bagged or bundled, doors need removed from larger appliances, and larger items like antenna tower and play sets must be broken down or disassembled. The Fall Clean-Up Days is funded by the City of Galesburg residents. Waste from businesses or out-of-town residents is prohibited. Scavenging items from the curb is also not allowed and will result in a fine. More information can be found in the 2018 Recycling and Refuse Guide on the City’s website.
