Stark County schools open with police presence after email threat

There will be a police presence at Stark County schools today after an anonymous email threat was made.Superintendent Nick Sutton says that the threat is not credible but if that determination changes the district will act accordingly.

At this point, Sutton says that an investigation is taking place to determine who sent the message.

Sutton said in a message to the “Stark County Community” that he will always error on the side of caution under these threats, but school would be in session today.

However, he also added that absences would be excused today if a parent decided to keep their child out of caution.

He also promised to do everything he could to “assist in determining where the threat came from” and hold that person accountable.

If additional information is learned, WGIL will keep you updated.
