Hammond named “Friend of Agriculture” by Illinois Farm Bureau

The Illinois Farm Bureau has recognized 93rd District Representative, and Assistant House Minority Leader, Norine Hammond with the “Friend of Agriculture” award.

The award is given out annually by the farm bureau to legislators based on their voting record in the General Assembly, which shows their understanding of the Illinois’ agricultural products and importance that farmers play in providing quality food, fiber, and fuel.

A press release from the Representative states she supports farmers, a safe food system, and a strong agricultural business environment.

She was presented with a miniature replica of a grain harvester on Tuesday by representatives from various farm bureaus throughout the 93rd District, which include Knox, Warren, Fulton, McDonough, and Schuyler counties.

Hammond had previously been awarded the “Friend of Agriculture” award in 2016.

She is currently running for re-election against democratic opponent John Curtis, a teacher at Western Illinois University in Macomb.
