GPD seized suspected meth from under parked car

A bag containing nearly 10 grams of a crystal substance that was suspected to be methamphetamine was found and taken by Galesburg police officers Wednesday afternoon.

According to police reports, officers were dispatched to a parking lot on Losey Street. There they spoke to a woman who had found the bag under her car.

She directed officers to the rear of her vehicle. She told them she had parked her car and later returned to it, and that’s when she noticed the bag under her car.

Officers seized the bag of suspected methamphetamine, which weighed 9.5 grams, and marked it for destruction.

This was the second bag of suspected meth found on Wednesday, the other was found near Moon Towers by an employee.
