Best selling author David Sedaris returning to Galesburg in 2019

Famed humorist and writer David Sedaris is returning to the Galesburg Orpheum Theatre in early 2019. 

This comes after Sedaris was at the historic theater in May of 2017.

Sedaris has sold over 10 million books, with many of them being collections of essay satirical essays, often about his own life, family and experiences.

He makes frequent appearances on NPR programming, write essays for publications like The New Yorker and will frequently go on tour giving these talks, especially when promoting a book.

Sedaris’ latest book is called, “Calypso”, another collection of essays that focuses more on the concerns of aging.

Publishers call it “beach reading for people who detest beaches.”

Sedaris will also frequently write with his sister, Amy Sedaris, who is a well known actress and comedian.

Tickets are going on sale Monday morning starting at 10 a.m. on The Orpheum’s website, galesburgorpheum.org .

Also available now are tickets for The Orpheum’s showing of the documentary “RBG” that chronicles the life and legacy of Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
