Two resurfacing contract bids up for approval at Galesburg Council

Galesburg Alderman tonight will vote on whether to approve two bids for asphalt road resurfacing, totaling between the two about $308,000.

Both bids would go to Brandt Construction, if Council follows City administration’s recommendation.

It would be for Parkview Road, from Brentwood to Dayton Drive and Parkview Circle.

The second contract would be resurfacing Heritage and Patterson Drives and for that contract concrete curb and gutters will be replaced where needed.

Council could also settle a lawsuit with AECOM, a company that provided planning and design services for the Water Treatment Facility in Oquawka.

After operations began the city noted deficiencies with the plant, which resulted in litigation after the the city and AECOM couldn’t come to terms.

The agreement will be for the City to dismiss the suit in exchange for $73,710.
