88th Annual Warren County Fair continues in Roseville

The Warren County Fair in Roseville got underway late last week, but the bulk of the activities gets underway Wednesday, July 18th.

President of the Warren County Fair Board, Jeff Jensen, gave WGIL a preview of this week’s features. “We’ll have a Family Night tonight (Wednesday) with some different events with the carnival,” Jensen said. “The rest of the shows will continue – livestock shows throughout the week. Thursday we’ll have (a) Figure 8 Race – it’s part of the Point Series, and then Friday we’ll have the Demolition Derby and then Saturday we’ll follow it all off with another Figure 8 race.”

Tickets and admission to the carnival reduced in price for Family Night. The carnival runs from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm Wednesday, July 18th through Saturday night, July 21st. The Power Wheels derby on Thursday (7/19) and Friday (7/20) begin at 6:30 pm followed by the Figure 8 at 7:00 pm Thursday (7/19) and the Demo Derby at 7:00 pm on Friday (7/20). Saturday’s Figure 8 Demo Derby begins at 5:00 pm. Following each grandstand event will be live music at the entertainment tent with the Scat Grub Band tomorrow night, Eternity Road on Friday night and Patrick N Swayze on Saturday night. Admission to grandstand events is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 8.

Jensen says there’s plenty of good food and local favorites being featured this year. “We have, what we call, Don’s Corn Dog Stand – he’s on the beer tent side of things and he’ll be here all week,” Jensen said. “Roseville Kids Place is doing a meal on Thursday. Friday (is) the Tri-County Cattlemen’s with their steaks and burgers. Saturday will be two local favorites: Steve Killey and Jesse Thorton (with Sauced & Smokin’) they’ll be smoking all day and making BBQ ribs.”
