202 School Board approves tentative F-Y 2019 budget

The Knoxville School District could see a surplus of $182,720 when all is said and done for the fiscal year 2019.

That’s according to District 202 Superintendent Steve Wilder, who presented the school board Monday night with a tentative budget for the coming year.

Wilder said in his presentation that because the final payment for the HVAC project at Mable Woolsey Elementary School was made last year, operating funds are projected to come in with a surplus.

Projected revenue for the upcoming year is $11,168,745 with expenses coming in at just about $10,986,025.

Wilder called the budget “straight forward” and added that the current budget is using estimates for State Aid based on assumptions because the final projections from the State Board of Education have not been released.

He says he’ll have an update for the board in August, and a final budget in September.
